Abby describes why being a physical therapist at CTC is the best!
Q: How did you decide on pediatric therapy as a career?
I knew when I got into PT school that I really wanted to work with kids. I had the opportunity to work at a pediatric clinic early on as a rehab aide, and was fascinated with how the therapists were able to get kids to work on things that seemed so hard while making it feel so fun. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to work in pediatric therapy and help each kiddo and family meet their big and small goals.
Q: What do you love most about working at CTC?
I love the ability to collaborate with other providers! We have such an amazing team that is always willing to problem solve and work through tough challenges.
Q: What’s one of your favorite family/child stories that you love to share?
It’s so hard to choose one! I guess one of my favorite stories is when I was working with a kiddo on taking independent steps in a gait trainer for several months. After so many different strategies and attempts, they finally took their first steps and there was no stopping them after that! Now the kiddo uses the gait trainer to interact with siblings and get around at home independently. It’s incredibly rewarding to see that achievement!
