Best Starts for Kids Child Care Subsidy

Families who are interested in the new Best Starts for Kids Child Care Subsidy program can fill out a five-minute eligibility form to see if they may qualify for help paying for child care.  Families who need assistance filling out this form can access it at any time by texting or calling (206) 208-6865 or emailing support@bskchildcare.org. Interpretive services are available over the phone, if needed.

Families who indicate they have a child with a disability, developmental delay or complex medical need will be prioritized for subsidy, provided they are eligible in every other way for the subsidy (income, residence, not eligible for Washington State’s Working Connections Child Care program, using licensed child care).

Families will be contacted by the program if they have been selected to complete the full application. Because this is new program and there may be more families interested than we have capacity to serve, please note that submitting an eligibility form will NOT guarantee child care funding for the family.

Calling all ESIT Families!

The King County Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) Team is recruiting for the second year of the Family Engagement Experts and Leaders (FEEL). As part of this work, they are committed to supporting and centering family voices.

The program is seeking families who have received ESIT services in the last 5 years to join their Family Engagement Experts and Leaders (FEEL) group. If you would like to share your experiences receiving ESIT services, give feedback, connect with other families, and build/use leadership skills, please contact them.

Families will be compensated for their commitment. If interested, please click here to apply and/or contact Shanelle Dodson-Dance at sddance@kingcounty.gov for more information.
