“We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” said Bryce Rassilyer, president of Children’s Therapy Center’s Board of Directors and co-chair of the search committee. “Barry will bring leadership and strategic vision to Children’s Therapy Center along with a deep commitment to our mission of serving children with special needs. He will be instrumental in CTC’s continued growth and role in our community, bringing our services to more children and families in need while continuing our high level of program excellence.”

Barry was previously the Executive Director of Family Service of Lincoln, one of Nebraska’s oldest non-profits providing a variety of services to more than 14,000 children and families every day. Under Barry’s leadership, the organization was named Non-Profit of the Year and he was honored with the Spirit of United Way Award. Prior to becoming the Executive Director of Family Service, Barry served as a teacher and superintendent of schools in both Oregon and Washington State.

“I am honored and excited to join the CTC team, where every day dedicated and talented professionals provide help and hope to children and families,” said Barry. “From its founding by visionary children’s champions Sue Hudson, Nancy Hylton and Gay Lloyd Pinder, CTC has built a legacy of helping children reach milestones others thought were impossible. CTC believes in celebrating where a child is today, while working toward who they can be – a focus of my life’s work and something that is consistent with my own beliefs and values.”

Barry and his wife, Susan, have divided their time for many years between Lincoln and their home in Tacoma, Washington, and look forward to relocating. He will assume his role as CEO of Children’s Therapy Center on May 8.
